Severn Valley offers over 40 different free group fitness classes each week - all lead by energetic, motivational, certified instructors. Our classes range from cycling to step, strength conditioning, yoga, Pilates and many others and are designed for all fitness levels and abilities.
Class Descriptions
BodyPump™. The world's fastest way to get in shape! BodyPumptm is a group barbell program that challenges every major muscle in the body. Appealing to men and women of all fitness levels. Participants can expect high repetition lifts, adjustable weights and active recovery to reverse muscle fatigue. Nothing works faster! This class rocks!
Butts and Guts. This class focuses on your glutes and your ab muscles only. Come work on your core strength and strengthen your legs and backside all at the same time. Good for all levels.
Cardio Ball. This class burns calories while working out your upper body at the same time. Hi / Lo impact moves combined with a resist-a-ball work together to push your body to its aerobic ability. This class is great for anybody as you can determine the level of difficulty by how much you want to jump of lift the ball. Tons of fun don't miss it!
Cardio Blast. Fun class for all levels. Increase your cardio endurance with interval training. Your heart will thank you.
Cardio Conditioning. If you want a great work out you will come to this class. This class combinescardio and muscular endurance. You will love the variety of the class and the total body conditioning. Fabulous workout with lots of energy. You don't want to miss it! Perfect for all levels.
Cycle. One of the best cardio workouts ever! A motivational class with no impact on the knees and hips. You control the intensity by adjusting the bike's variable resistance. Good for all ages. Bring a towel, a water bottle, and the desire to sweat!
Kick Boxing 4 Health. High intensity, fast workout that gets your heart rate pumping. This class offers kickboxing with a target to aim for AWESOME! The kickbox combinations are fun and easy to learn creating a fun, never-dull calorie burn. All levels.
Kids Yoga. This class is for children ages 4 and up. Kids will learn the basic techniques of yoga and play some games too!
Lo Impact Cardio. A cardio workout including low impact aerobics with lo to hi intensity. This class is friendly to the knee and ankle joints while you still get the cardio workout you want. Designed specifically for individuals to work at their own intensity. Great for a beginner or an aerobic lover!
Pilates. A class that focuses on core stabilization, good posture, and body alignment while executing various positions. All levels.
Step. A high intensity, low impact cardio class designed to develop cardiovascular and muscular endurance. All combinations are performed on an adjustable platform. All levels.
Strength Conditioning. A class of muscular strength-and endurance that works ALL body muscles using weights, bands, bars, and resist-a-balls. All levels.
Super Abs. This class is serious abdominal work. Concentrate on strengthening and toning the core muscles of the body! All levels.
Ultimate Ball Strength. Create a strong and tone body using the exercise ball with your weight workout. The ball implements more core strength while working all the muscles of the body. Great for beginners and the advanced athlete.
Yoga. Good for beginners or more experienced students. A variety of styles are presented including Iyengar, Kripalu, Kundalini, and beginner Ashtanga (Power Yoga). Learn breathing and meditation techniques while moving through poses that will improve your strength and flexibility. The relaxation period at the end leaves you peaceful and restored.
Yoga II. Step up your yoga poses in this multi-level, multi-traditional yoga that focuses on muscular balance, integrated movement, flexibility and body awareness.
